In what ways have people done tried to rule over and be master of other kinds of living things, and in what ways have people not done that?  Creatures is a big category that includes bacteria and viruses as well as whales, mice, moquitoes, dogs, pigeons, earthworms and armadillos and 350,000 species of beetle.
