Teach and practice all the verbs found in that prayer: leshanot, lashevet, lishcav, lichtov, lakum, likshar.
Make students act out the verbs and make up sentences.
You can use exercises from the textbook and the classwork booklet.
Homework:
1. Complete page 15 of the Homework booklet.
2. Practice reciting the whole prayer "V'Ahavtah" (all 29 lines) found on pages 28-29 of the textbook "Journey through the Siddur".
3. Study the words and make up one sentence for each of the following words: kumecha, shachav, cotev, leshanot, lalechet. Write each of the sentence and bring to school.
October 11, 2011 Sunday School teachers:
Practice 17 lines of "V'Ahavtah" on page 28 of the textbook "Journey through the Siddur" or UHS Siddur.
Review vocabulary on pages 24 and 30.
Make sure students know how to spell these words and know their meanings.
Homework:
1. Review vocabulary words (lev, nefesh, meod, kol, olam, meleck, kavod, ehad, shma), and write four sentences with four words of your choice.

1. Practice 20 lines of the prayer "Ahavah Rabah".
Make sure they know how to recite the prayer fluently - they will be tested individually on fluency.
2. Review all the words mentioned last time. They will have a vocabulary quiz next class.

2. Recite 20 lines of "Ahavah Rabah" and be able to read it fluently for a grade.

Start practicing "Ahavah Rabah". Review all the words that pertain to that prayer. Discuss how this prayer is connected to receiving of Torah by Jewish people.
